How to See Your YouTube Comment History on Phone and Computer

How to See Your YouTube Comment History on Phone and Computer

Your YouTube comments are listed in the History section. On a computer, open History in the left menu and choose Comments; on a phone, tap your profile picture and open Your data in YouTube, then Comments. Google My Activity shows the same list filtered by YouTube. From there you can open the video, edit or delete a comment.

YouTube has no search box that finds "everything I ever said", but it keeps a list of your comments in your account. Below are the routes for each device, a table of what the list does and does not show, and tips for tracking down one specific comment. Menu names change, so follow the meaning if yours differ.

Where is my YouTube comments history?

The list is part of your account activity, not of the video page. There are three ways to reach it, and all lead to the same data.

RouteWhere to goWorks on
History pageLeft menu, History, then CommentsComputer and tablet
Your data in YouTubeProfile picture, Your data in YouTube, CommentsPhone app
Google My ActivityThe activity page of your Google account, filter by YouTubeAny browser

The newest comments appear first, and you can scroll back through your older ones. You must be signed in to the same Google account that wrote them.

How to see your comments on a computer

  1. Open YouTube and sign in.
  2. Click History in the left menu.
  3. In the panel on the right, choose Comments under the history types.
  4. Scroll the list and click a comment to open its video.

If you cannot see History, expand the left menu with the three lines at the top. On a narrow window, History may sit under You.

How to see your comments on a phone

  1. Open the YouTube app and tap your profile picture at the top right.
  2. Tap Your data in YouTube. In some versions the entry is called Manage all activity or sits under settings.
  3. Choose Comments.
  4. Tap a comment to open the video where you posted it.

This page also shows the total number of comments you have written, which is a quick way to check you are viewing the right account.

Use Google My Activity as a backup route

Google keeps a combined activity list. Open the My Activity page of your Google account, filter by YouTube and choose the comments type. The advantage is a date filter and search by keyword. Note that the list may include comments that were later removed by the video owner, so not everything in it is still visible on the video.

How to find one old comment

If you remember part of the text, a few approaches help.

  • Browser search. On the comments list in a browser, press Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F on a Mac) and type a word from the comment.
  • The video. Open the video, sort comments by newest or top, and search for your name. This is slow for popular videos.
  • Notifications. Replies to your comments appear in the notification bell, which can point to the video.
  • A date range in My Activity, if you know roughly when you posted.

If the comment is not on any list, it may have been deleted by you or the channel, or held for review. Our guide on why comments do not show lists the usual reasons.

How to edit or delete a comment

Open the comment from the list and you land on the video. Use the three-dot menu next to your comment to edit or delete it. Deleting is permanent and removes the replies under it. Editing marks the comment as edited. If you want to remove several comments, you have to delete them one by one in most versions.

Can other people see my comment history?

No. The history page is private to your account. Other people see only the comments that are visible on videos they open. Your name and profile picture appear with each comment, and clicking your name leads to your channel, so what you write publicly can still be found by whoever looks.

What the history does not show

  • Comments that were removed by YouTube for violating the rules (they may or may not be listed).
  • Live chat messages (they live in chats and may appear elsewhere).
  • Comments on videos that were deleted or made private.
  • Replies that you wrote under another reply in some old threads.

If something is missing, check My Activity and make sure activity saving is on in your Google account settings.

Checklist

  • [ ] Sign in to the right Google account.
  • [ ] Use History, Comments on a computer.
  • [ ] Use Your data in YouTube, Comments on a phone.
  • [ ] Try My Activity for date filters.
  • [ ] Use browser search to find a word.
  • [ ] Never enter your password into an outside tool that promises "all your comments".

Why creators check comments

Reading your own comments helps you keep a consistent voice across channels, and for a creator the replies under your videos show what viewers want next. Our guides on turning on comments and on getting more subscribers cover both ends of that loop, and the piece on turning off Shorts helps with feed clutter.

How it works at LikeMan

A video without any replies can look lonely. Our YouTube comments use only a public video address, so none of your sign-in details are involved. The sum is stated first, delivery begins after payment clears, and a shortfall in the coming year is filled in. Ordered comments get a thread moving; they are no stand-in for genuine viewers.
